Admission to Communion: Principles and Practicalities

Thursday 26 September 2024.

10.15 for 10.30 – 13.00, online, via Zoom, hosted by Transforming Worship South.

Speaker: The Rev’d Canon Kenneth Padley.

Keneth is Canon Treasurer at Salisbury Cathedral and previously Vicar of St Michael’s, St Albans; a busy parish with a wide age range within the church community.

As we come to the start of another academic year hopefully we will have new opportunities to minister to those new to Church, perhaps via our schools, perhaps via all age worship or new patterns of worship.
How do we encourage people on their pilgrimage of faith? In the past one might have presumed that a child was baptised as an infant then confirmed in their teens becoming a communicant member of the Church. Peoples pilgrimages of faith take many different paths nowadays, so when and how do we welcome them to the Eucharist?

Cost: £7 per person, £5 for affiliates, and free for ordinands/those training for licensed lay ministry.

To book, email the Revd Richard Curtis, at: worship@canred.org
